Employ to Empower
DOT believes in socially-minded capitalism as an agent for change and empowerment. Our Employ to Empower Program is a social give-back program in Singapore that enables women from underprivileged, low-income or troubled families to earn an income, regain their self-confidence and eventually play an active, productive role in our economy.
DOT organises and invites businesses and companies, big and small, which are keen to adopt community-centric practices as their operational DNA, to attend special workshops on poverty sensitisation, employee engagement, etc
Our work with about 100 empathetic employment partners has shown that our programs have helped organisations achieve positive impact with improved talent attraction and management capabilities, enhanced HR strategies and leadership development opportunities.
Be A Supportive Employer
While we continually engage existing and potential partner employers, we also plan and roll out key activities that are a part of our enablement and support framework in ensuring that each woman is job ready. These key activities include:
Job Tours & Job Fairs
Industry Familiarization Talks & Inductions
Various Development Workshops
Resume Writing Workshops
Interview Preparations
As part of DOT’s Job Readiness Program, each woman is matched with a dedicated DOT befriender who first assesses her needs and barriers, and then recommends suitable workshops and training that will help fulfil on her aspirations. We bridged each job-ready woman with relevant, positions offered by our employer partners.
Each woman is deemed job ready when she has consistent attendance at key programs and when her practical challenges are adequately addressed and/or supported through our Women Support team and network of community partners.
