Mala has a jolly and friendly personality that belies her inner strength. Many years ago, Mala gathered the courage to break free from an abusive marriage and fought tooth and nail to come to where she is today. She picked up English, began her career and started her own business, all while raising three kids on her own.

Mala credits the social workers who helped tide her through tough times but it really comes down to her spirit that helps her get where she wants: her optimism and hard work drove her to try her hand at many projects.

Currently, she’s balancing a full-time job at Lazada, along with managing her family and business. While she struggles with English, Mala has never let that hold her back — instead, she channels her efforts into constantly improving her business skills such as familiarising herself with social media techniques and expanding her communication skills to outreach to more people,

Her family wholeheartedly supports her ventures, empowering her to realise her goals and aspirations because they know the sacrifices she has made to support them as well. In their eyes, Mala is the ultimate Shero.
