Insight #8: The fluctuations in indicators and income throughout the one year period indicate the need to find multiple ways to offer long-term support, including both income and coaching support. Other systemic/macro-level support is also required to ensure stability so that lower income women can think further into the future to reach their aspirations.
As shared in Insight #1, stability is non-linear. Apart from the indicators, this is also reflected in their income fluctuation.
Even with the two interventions, indicators in some categories continued to fluctuate: things improve but sometimes “revert” back to struggling due to external disruptions. In the first 6 months there were substantial improvements in the indicators, but the benefits plateau or came down, especially so in the Coaching Support group. Some priorities were not being met as well, as there is only so much women can achieve independently when lives are unstable.
