Zarina is a mother with a kind and giving heart, raising not only her three children but children from her extended family. With her generous nature and strong desire to help the less fortunate, she has fostered and cared for children from low income families for over 20 years.

An inspiration, she is often approached by social workers and community groups to share about her experiences. Acknowledging her caregiving knowledge and experience, Zarina was appointed a Community Leader of DOT’s Childminding Community Network. There, she is a source of emotional and practical support, mentoring other community leaders and organising events for childminders.

Zarina is an excellent cook and runs her own catering business Mami Kitchens Ina specialising in Malay cuisine.
